The Podcast.

Assalamualaikum and a very good day to my reader,

   Judging from the title of this post, I guess all of you know what topic will going to be discussed today. Podcasts. I bet you have encountered this name once or a few times before this and thinking "What in the world is this thing?". Thankfully you are on my blog, as I will be explaining what is Podcast. Well, briefly explain at least. 

So, what is podcast? According to Oxford Dictionary, podcast is a digital audio file that is available on the Internet and can be downloaded, it typically available as a series or installments that be received by subscribers automatically. Too lengthy? 

Basically, it is something you subscribe to and listen, either online or downloaded into your phone. Somewhat similar like a radio, but more fun because you are able to listen to stations that suits you liking. The major difference is that podcast does not typically plays music, but instead they talk about a certain topic based on the interest of the station. That is why there is a lot of podcasts that will suit your taste. From ghost stories to discussion about nutritional facts, you can any topic that will cater to your taste. That is why many people listen to podcasts nowadays, because it helps you to gain more knowledge without the hassle of having to read.

iHeart Radio is one of the popular websites in United Kingdom that provides you with podcasts of your choice.

TuneIn is also one of the top recommended for podcasts.

So, how can podcast help with language learning? Well, for starters students can listen to an existing podcasts or create their own. This hands-on experience is very good for students to pick up new words or phrases to help them with the language that they are learning.

Do you have the basic concept of what is podcast so far? Good. As what was mention, podcasts can also be used as a medium of story telling to enhance one's language learning. This is because you can learn the pronunciation for difficult words that you have been tripping over the last few days.

Hence, that is why we have been given a task to create our own podcast. The task was to create  podcast with the main purpose being storytelling. To know what story I chose and to listen to my podcast, tune in for the next post.
